A native Texan, Dr. Matthew Artho was born and raised in the small, rural town of Hereford, Texas. An active member of his community, he has always understood the importance of serving his family and neighbors. Dr. Artho has consistently placed a significant focus on the value of each individual, and it is this devotion to others that has allowed him to find great fulfillment in the dental field.

Dr. Artho has always believed education and experience are essential to ensure quality dental care for each individual. For this reason, after receiving his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry, he pursued and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at Baylor College of Dentistry. He also continues to remain an active member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Dallas County Dental Society, International Team for Implantology, and various dental study clubs. He is currently pursuing his Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Lauren Smits grew up in Greenwood, Indiana and received her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from The University of Notre Dame. She was active with several service organizations at Notre Dame. This strengthened her desire to serve her community in the healthcare field. Dr. Lauren found a passion for dentistry and graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2013. She led a family dental practice in The Woodlands, Texas before moving to Argyle in 2019, where she is still a neighbor of Dr. Matt and his family.

Dr. Lauren met her husband, Bryan, working at Camp Sweeney in Gainesville, Texas where they led and mentored children with Type 1 Diabetes. They married in Coppell, Texas in 2010 and are the proud parents of three young children. As a family, they enjoy visiting their parent’s ranch, going to the beach and staying involved with their church.
